Art from You Are What You Eat, © 2010 by Serge Bloch, Sterling Children’s Books

Now that you’ve stuffed yourself silly (or drowsy and grouchy), it’s time to think of your food in a new way.  I’ve discovered a wonderful and whimsical book that is the perfect antidote to this season of consumption.

Serge Bloch mixes simple line drawings with photography to teach about healthy eating habits while amusing us all with witty phrases we’re all familiar with but maybe haven’t really thought through.  Take, for instance, what happens when the picky eater star of this book is told by his mother that “You are what you eat” or that his dad tells him to take his pesky sister “with a grain of salt”.  You’ll rethink and re-envision all of those clever food sayings you’ve heard all your life.

E.A.T. Blog is giving away three copies of “You Are What You Eat”, thanks to the generous folks at Sterling Children’s Books. To enter to win, e-mail:
courtney.mcdonough@parenthood.com with the subject line:  “You Are What You Eat” by December 8.

Congratulations to our three winners of “You Are What You Eat”, Jocelyn, Tina and Danette.  Thank you to everyone who entered the contest. Watch for more contests in future blogs.
